moving smartly along

Finally, this past Friday, the escrow check cleared. Shipped off the electronic evidence of the cashing to our loan folks over the weekend. This was the last piece of the puzzle needed to finally finalize the loan. well, almost...

This am I shipped off another bank statement--seems the paper trail on where the monies had come from to pay the escrow check were not completely documented --well only $8200 of it was not documented. An updated checking account statement showing direct deposits to fund the escrow check were needed. Seems one can't be too careful in these less than optimal credit times...i guess...

appraisal in; title clearing in progress

the mortgage company has the appraisal in hand--no FHA issues; house appraised for a few thousand more then the purchase price. our lawyer has indicated the title report came up clean; a survey of the property still needs to be conducted to completely clear the title, but all is a go at the moment.

our lender would love to book this business and close by 4-29-2011. we'll see, but she's been superb thus far when it comes to getting the paperwork executed and processed on her end. if anyone can make this happen by the end of the month, she can. ;]

contract signed

We heard from our agent this am that the seller had signed the contract. Our loan officer had the property appraised on Friday, and we should hear the results from the appraiser today. Our lawyer ordered the title search already, so closing on or about 5/16/2011 seems more and more like a reality.

contract signed--on our end

We met with our attorney today at 5pm...signed the contract--in like 9 places between corrections and actual signatures...  So, we are on our way.  closing will be on or about 5/1/2011.
